Update on last night... it was three degrees fahrenheit here by the time it was finally time to take out my trash last night. My feet were freezing! Fortunately it's a bit warmer tonight, about 20 degrees, so taking the empty trash barrels back in will not be so bad. I hope we don't get any more frigid trash nights like that this winter, but alas I know it is only December, there will probably be quite a few more.

On to today... Argh, another day I have been dreading... the last few days have been pretty easy on my feet, so I guess that had to end sooner or later. Today's shoes are probably, without exception, the smallest, tightest fitting shoes that I have. I never should have bought these, but from a collectable standpoint, they were just so unusual that I couldn't resist. I mean, they are high heels, but in denim, like jeans. I had never seen another pair of shoes like them before, and I have never seen a pair like them since. They were a size too small for me, but I figured that I could squeeze in to them, and bought them anyway. It turned out though that even though they were labeled a size too small, the company that made them also didn't seem to understand woman's shoe sizes, so they fit even smaller than that. They feel like they are at least two sizes too small for my feet, perhaps even three, really! In the photos, if you look closely, you can actually see how tightly my feet are being squeezed in to the openings of the shoes. :-( I had to use a shoe horn and a LOT of struggling just to get these on.

So here I sit, my feet squeezed helplessly in to these impossibly tight high heels for the night, having my toes crushed. The good news is that I had to work today, so I didn't actually have to put these on until about 7:00 pm, and I will definitely be taking them off at bed time and putting on a more comfortable pair of shoes to sleep in, so at least my feet are only looking at about 4 hours of total torture. I realize it could have been a lot worse... had it been a Saturday when I had nothing to do that these got picked, it could have meant spending 16 hours or more in them! Still, it has only been about one hour out of the four, and my feet are already tremendously uncomfortable. It is going to be a very long three hours to go.

And you will notice in the photos that I am indeed sitting. As my Mistress would say, these are "sitting down shoes". Thankfully I won't need to spend very much time on my feet tonight!

The other fortunate thing is that I know that Mistress Phoenix sadistically enjoys my pain and suffering, and that bring me great joy, even as I endure great physical discomfort. As she always says... "it builds character."
