The Masterís role in training is to provide the slave with support, direction, encouragement, insight, change, challenge and establishing or reinforce values. Throughout all of the areas shown below, a Master uses many techniques to stimulate cognitive, emotive, and behavioral change. Behavior, emotions, self-image and thoughts are always considered.

In spite of insight, she may feel emotionally blocked or offer resistance to change.
