Rope Shackle illustrated tutorial

articles and tutorials Basic Bondage Rope cuffs and bondage restraints

This is a perfect tie for restraining a single wrist to any fixture, such as the arm of a chair. Its multiple loops stay secure and comfortable under any strain. It can also be used to tie other limbs, such as knees, to armrest posts for chair bondage and other techniques.

Rope length: 10 feet or more

Rope diameter: 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch

Place three fingers of the back of your hand along the wrist of your partner. From the middle of the rope, make four wraps around the arm and your fingers. Keep ropes flat.

Stick your thumb between the first and second ropes and make an L shape by crossing the left-most rope over all the others.

Take the end of that rope and pass it under all the ropes except for the first rope (itself).

Pull the rope out over the first rope (itself) and all the way through. Let it drop down the other side, toward you.

Do the same with the other end of the rope, making a 7 and crossing over all the ropes, then under all three ropes and then make it come out over itself.

Pull the rope all the way through the knot. Done correctly, the knot should look symmetrical.

Tighten the shackle by pulling on the “ear” loops until the wraps are secure around the wrist.

Tighten the knot by pulling the ends of the ropes to shrink the “ears” tightly back into the knot. (To maintain circulation, the shackle should be loose enough to accept one finger under it.)
